Almost Time
The temperature is rising. My patience is getting thin. The car seems to be calling for me to work. Almost time... Almost time

A New Part on the Way
I have just ordered the deck panel for Rusty. This is the piece that is between the window and the trunk. At first we were just going to work with what we had, but after realizing how bad the rust was I figured we better see what the damage is underneath the piece. I want this car to last. Everybody had told me before I started this project that I should build it with the thought, "I only want to build this thing once." Now I know there will have to be maintenance on Rusty frequently, but I want a good foundation so I won't have to do extreme changes later. Hopefully I will get the panel this weekend so we can work on it. Pictures to come shortly. Stay tuned...

Xtreme Lee 2

Here is a side view of the Xtreme Lee from Kenny Wayne Shepard's collection. You can see the rims a little better. I blogged before on saying these are what I would like to purchase. They measure 18's in the front and 20's in the back I believe. They are custom and I was told these are the only ones "cut" but can be duplicated. What do you all think?

The Sleeping Beast
Every day that I pass through the garage I think about the moment I start'er up for the first time. The long hours that were put in, the money it took, and the patience. All of the stress and receipts we'll look back on will not matter when she comes rolling out of the garage growling. Right now I'm still in the thick of things. She lays dormant for the time being while I build a money fund. For those who don't know about 90% of the funds that I have been working with to build Rusty have come from selling merchandise on eBay. I'm selling my autograph collection among other small things to buy what I need for this car. So my patience isn't just with the time working on the car, but also making the money to do it. I don't want to deplete the savings and create stress between my wife and I about money. This is a project that was thought out first before we bought it. I'm not on a time table but its hard passing Rusty and not being able to drive it. That day will come. I'll be ready. But for now I'll continue to be patient as I want this done the right way. Stay tuned...

Ok, I know this isn't the exact General, but this is what I would love for my car to resemble when it is done. I think I am sold on these rims, which are modern day vector rims rather than the original vectors the General had on it from the show. The only problem is is that they will certainly cost a little extra in the wallet. I fell in love with this style General right when I first saw it. This car is owned by Kenny Wayne Shepard. It is one of a kind. I don't want to copy it exactly, (it is valued at 90,000), but i would like the wheels. This car is amazing. I am saving every penny to help with the cost. No not all of our paychecks, literally every penny that I find on the ground. I know it will take a while to get the money, but if you look at the current state of Rusty then you know that I have a little time to save.

After Shots-prt2
HOLY RUST!!
Window day- the day of all days that isn't the most exciting work there is to do, but one of the most important things especially on this design of a car. Research shows that if a Charger is found years later it will almost definitely have rust on the back frame of the rear window. Mine is no exception. Any ordinary fellow would have called the time of death on this car years ago just from this back window. I on the other hand look at it as another chance to cruise to proove all of those nay-sayers. I stripped the weatherstripping off, blasted the outer frame, and sprayed the cancer areas with Rust-Mort. These areas will definitely be cut out and made fresh again. It will take time and patience, but what else do I have with this car?
